As you know I have a disabled younger son who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. As anyone reading this who has someone with a disability will understand trying to arrange a holiday can be a nightmare. We need to holiday in the UK as we are unable to go abroad with my son now as we need to take half the house with us when we travel. My sister Sue and her soon to be other half Al were fed up of joining in or hearing about holidays that were not what they said on the tin!! With this in mind with the the help of my son they have successfully set up a holiday home to include disabled people fully. They opened last year and have had excellent feedback from all who visit and many have booked for this year. My son is severely physically disabled and requires a lot of specialised equipment including a ceiling track hoist and electric profiling bed to name but a few. Cloud Nine Escapes in Ironbridge has everything we need and my son thoroughly enjoys his visit and I feel totally relaxed which is a first for me. As we like making cards my son and I collaborated in making the card below just for fun to thank them for all their hard work, hope you like it. If anyone is interested in this type of holiday or simply somewhere to relax they can be found at www.cloud-nine-escapes.co.uk. Please mention my blog when you make an enquiry as the will be very pleased that I am promoting them on my blog so take a look and see for yourself!

I own a beautiful cat called Ella, she is a Norwegian Forest cat and is very gentle and elegant and loves human attention and lots of it, she loves being brushed and sitting on my son Thomas' knee in his wheelchair and riding around with him like the Queen of Sheba!!
My craft workshop is situated in my garden, it is a large shed that is insulated, has electricity and lots of windows and space. It is my creative sanctuary and gives me my needed time out from my caring role it is my therapy and helps me to totally switch off. I am addicted to card making and it is not bad for your health like some addictions just bad for your bank balance!!

This is a card I was asked to make for a friend's husband, she was very pleased with it as was I. I used Little Claire stamps. I really like this range of stamps as they are very simplistic, easy to use and help ideas flow very readily. I used some Kraftcard to make an easel card, layered up two different designs of backing papers from my stash. Sectioned these off with matching ribbons and placed my layered, coloured and glossed stamped images in the four sections. For the base of the easel card I used different ribbon and the MAN sentiment from the stamp set and on either side placed a heart shaped button threaded with paper thread on a die cut butterfly and then in a tiny scalloped circle of Kraftcard. I really enjoyed making this card. The ribbons and buttons on this card were bought from Love to Sew which is a new shop in my home town that has a fabulous range of buttons, ribbons and embellishments suitable for card making. I am now a regular visitor to the shop which also gives sewing lessons, children's sewing parties, does alterations and much more and I wish them every success.
